History & Ethos

Life in the Spirit Conference began in 1979 in a north-country manse. A Small group of friends came together for two days of heart sharing and theological study. All were from a reformed background and in their search for a deeper life in God and more unction in their ministry, they had all experienced a fresh touch of the Holy Spirit upon their hearts. It was to share this experience in the light of doctrines of grace that they met.

This continues to be the emphasis of the conference as we meet year by year. Each conference is a product of Reformed Theology and Charismatic Experience, or as it is more popularly termed today - 'Word and Spirit'.

The conference was held at High Leigh Conference Centre for many years and also featured a two day conference at Westminster Chapel in London in 1997 before moving to The Hayes Conference Centre at Swanwick, Derbyshire in 2007 and continues in that location.
